Mobile Link feature – ability to check status on electronic devices – available on most models
A man called wanted to learn more about Honeywell’s new line of residential standby generators because he was interested in possibly having one installed for his home.
Honeywell has generators ranging from 11kW all the way up to 45kW. Many models include the new Mobile Link feature that allows owners to check on the status of their generator while they are away from home by using their smartphone, laptop computer or tablet. This system provides more than 40 different types of notifications, including notice of low battery, fault alerts, maintenance reminders, and several more.
Their smaller units use the Generac OHVI engine, while larger units have automotive-type engines that run at 1,800. This helps them operate at full capacity while keeping fairly quiet. Units also have foam panels that further reduce sound. The generators run on natural gas or liquid propane, and meet clean air standards set by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). Their units will run as long as needed until the utility grid is restored.
