We will sometimes get calls from people who complain that their generators are too noisy. Many of today’s models run much more quietly than older ones because they do a better job of adjusting the RPM of their engine to the electrical output they need to produce. As a result, they run quieter and conserve fuel.
However, many older models can create quite a bit of noise. Some people try attaching a muffler from an ATV or motorcycle to their generators, but you have to have a great deal of experience working with metal to even attempt it. If you do try this method and your generator is still covered by a warranty, that warranty will more than likely be voided.
